January 2010
One interesting item of news is the budget for the precept, which has been considerably reduced, by almost 40%
It is hoped that Craven District Council, North Yorkshire County Council, and the Police Authority will follow suit, but we’re not holding our breath!
The ‘old’ village hall has no heating, so due to complaints from the public we have had to move our Parish Council meetings to St. Andrew’s - same time, 7:00 p.m. on the first Monday of each month, unless it’s a bank holiday when it will move to the second Monday. It’s YOUR council, why not call in and see what’s happening?
A further request has gone to Craven District Council to see if enforcement has begun to finish the new hall, which should, according to the Section 106 undertaking, see HERE, have been completed and handed over to the Parish Council some months ago.
Another time to meet a councillor is the ‘Drop in sessions’ shortly to be started, where you’ll be able to drop in to Drystone Radio Café and chat to one or more of your Parish Councillors. Beginning on March 17th they will be held on the third Wednesday in each month from 10:00 to 12:00 noon. Please do drop in and have a coffee and chat!
Calling at houses along with a local police officer is due to start again soon. Whilst this has proven very popular, if you do not want to be called upon, please let us know.
