Planning consent is applied for to Craven district council, but the parish council is allowed an input, a viewpoint, which can be put to the district councillor. That councillor will then take that viewpoint to Craven district council as representative of the village.
Some planning applications are very small, perhaps for felling a tree which has become dangerous, and some are large, such as building a new estate in Cowling. Whichever of these it is, it’s important that the parish know of them, so that the public can have a say.
